Foot Pain...
Getting Down to Basics

Foot pain is often related to shoes that do not fit properly, improper posture, cumulative stress, or even high impact exercise. High-heeled shoes put concentrated pressure on the toes and often result in pain.

Foot Pain

Even the climate or weather can affect the feet as they expand in hot weather and contract when it is cooler. These changes can mean a size increase that should be reckoned with. Feet also change size depending on whether a person is standing, sitting or walking.

Some people experience pain in the feet related to poor posture. This of course can have a cumulative affect over time. As a person attempts to adjust to accommodate the pain, the posture can worsen.

Other Causes

Abnormalities in the legs, feet or back can result in pain in the feet.

Additionally there are many medical conditions that results in poor circulation to the feet and that can ultimately cause pain. Diabetes often results in associate foot discomfort.

Elevated blood pressure can cause the feet to swell and be painful, or lose sensation or the person may even experience a tingling in the feet.

Obesity has often been associated with pain in the feet, ankles and legs.

From Heel Pain To Pain In The Toes

Sometimes pain may be felt in a centralized area of the foot even when there are not any outward signs of trauma or disease. This could be the toes, the heel, or even the ball of the foot. So what is the best way to deal with foot pain?

Start with a simple shoe insert to see if that alleviates the pain. Insure that your shoes fit properly and treat your feet kindly. This includes giving them rest whenever you can by elevating them.

Keeping your feet comfortable can help in providing an overall comfort. Use lotions and creams to massage your feet. Avoiding high impact exercises can also help to prevent pain in the feet.

Foot pain can be a serious matter. If you are not able to alleviate the pain on your own you definitely need to consult with a qualified professional. Neglecting to properly care for your feet will only result in the condition worsening over time.
